Language Arts Reflection
A world without writing? Imagine such a thing; there would be no e-mails, television, and even legal documents that gave us rights, freedom and secureness. A world without writing would be chaos! People would be going as crazy as someone who just got hit in the head with a baseball bat. Writing skills may not be easy but without them out world would be a mess. In language arts we learned a lot.

My favorite piece this year was the fiction piece, I had to learn many skills to make this piece my best like story maps and detailed setting. In story maps I learned the way fiction stories should go. They go in chronological order, in other words they go in the order they occur. I also learned you should have a detailed setting, you should include the way it looks, smells or even feels.

In my story I open with the setting it is very detailed. My character is very upset with her family life. Her mom has died and all she wants to do is dance. Her father doesn’t want her to because her mom was a dancer and it brought back to many memories. She secretly dances for a show and her dad comes, the end is very happy. I wish I didn’t rush I quickly ended the story, for instance I had to say a couple months later and not explain what happened during those couple months. My end was also rushed.

I have definitely improved as a writer. I am more comfortable going into writer’s workshop. I now do amazing conversation and detail. Even though I have improved so much I think I need to work on endings of stories, I always make them go on and on, I need to figure out how to just end my stories. But in the end I have learned the most I think I could in this language arts class!

This is the link to my Fiction Story, enjoy!
